What is your most unforgettable Escape?

Provence region, France

What was the purpose of your travel?

My friend’s sister was attending a Yoga workshop there and it happened to be the perfect occasion for us to explore Provence.

With how many people did you travel?

Four: me, my friend Dilara, her sister Begum and her friend Aylin.

Where did you stay?

We booked a place on Airbnb, in Lourmarin.

What did you most like about the trip?

Provence had a very different vibe compared to the other places that I’ve been to. People were relaxed, enjoying their lives without having any concern about the future or the past. They were present in that moment and it looked like they were enjoying every bit of it.

Could you share an unforgettable memory about the trip?

Our visit to Chateau La Coste, which features a wineyard and an architecture and art park was a unique experience. We went on a hike around the works of the most talented architects and artists in the world and ended up watching our friends do yoga at the top of the hill, overlooking the entire estate. It was just like a movie scene.

Favorite restaurant(s) or food you have tried during your trip?

Before heading to Lourmarin, we spent a night in Marseille and had this amazing dinner in this restaurant called Au Coeur du Panier. The place was really local and the food was delicious.

Would you go back?

Definitely. I still have a lot of places on my list for Provence that I didn’t get the chance to see.

Any tips that might be useful to know before going there?

Lunch and dinner times are really strict. You won’t be able to find a place to eat at 4pm. Everywhere will probably be closed, so it is better to plan every meal before heading out.

Next stop you would like to visit?

Japan, Chile and the Atacama Desert
